SUNRISE presentation at National Consultation of the State Council

On November 27, 2023, the State Council of the Republic of Slovenia organized a national consultation titled ‘Resilience and Business Continuity of Key Organizations: An Imperative of Modern Society.’ This event was co-organized by the State Council, the Institute for Corporate Security Studies (ICS), and the Slovenian Association for Corporate Security.
During the national conference, the SUNRISE project was presented through an engaging session led by Milan TARMAN, Ph.D., from the Institute for Corporate Security Studies. The presentation covered an overview of the SUNRISE and Resilience and Business Continuity project, its mission, challenges faced, pathways to solutions, the roles of Slovenian partners, and the current project status.
Following the SUNRISE project presentation, a round table took place, featuring key participants such as Mr. Boštjan ŠEFIC, advisor in the Prime Minister’s office and coordinator for flood relief; Uroš SVETE, Ph.D., Director of the Information Security Office; Boštjan PAVLIN, M.Sc., Director-General of the Directorate for Defense Affairs of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia; M. Sc. Marko MIŠMAŠ, Director of the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (AKOS); M. Sc. Aleksander MERVAR, Director of ELES; and Mr. Aleš SKOK, President of the Board of Cinkarna Celje d.d. The discussion was moderated by Denis ČALETA from the Institute for Corporate Security Studies.
Drawing from the experience of major EU projects, the consultation assisted strategic management and the professional public in identifying good practices for implementing and constructing an effective business continuity system in their organizations.
