Abstract
In 2024, Austria experienced the warmest February since records began 257 years ago. Countries like Spain, Portugal, and Greece in particular must brace themselves for increasingly higher temperatures and far-reaching societal impacts such as wildfires, water shortages, and crop failures. However, the effects of the climate crisis are already noticeable in Austria and are expected to intensify further in the coming decades.
