On April 29, 2025, the SUNRISE project was showcased at the 3rd ECSCI Workshop on Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience, which took place in Bilbao, Spain, and online. The event gathered prominent European initiatives to address emerging threats and explore innovative methods for protecting critical infrastructures (CIs) across diverse sectors.
As today’s CIs become more complex, interconnected, and vulnerable to both cyber and physical threats, the urgency for cohesive, integrated security approaches continues to rise. The ECSCI Cluster and its workshops offer a valuable forum for EU-funded projects, policymakers, and experts to share insights, highlight progress, and collaborate on strategies to boost infrastructure resilience.
SUNRISE was featured in Session 4, EU research and innovation as a means of strengthening CI Resilience, on the opening day of the workshop. Project Coordinator Aljosa Palic delivered a presentation titled “Ensure greater availability, reliability, and continuity of critical infrastructures in Pandemic-Stricken Europe,” outlining SUNRISE’s strategic objectives and its contributions to improving the reliability of vital services during large-scale disruptions.
