Brief Biography of Partner
The Institute of Traffic and Transport Ljubljana l.l.c. (Prometni institut Ljubljana d.o.o). is a research organisation founded by Slovenian Railways. The company has 50 years of tradition and conducts research and development projects in all traffic modes applied to domestic and foreign markets. The Institute is a member of the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers and is registered as a research organisation by the Slovenian Research Agency.
The company specialises in research and development of transport technology, infrastructure, transport economics and law, transport-related IT&T as well as in the elaboration of investment documentation. The company employs 15 highly educated experts who specialise in transport engineering, IT, transport economics, law and environment. The basic goal of the company is expert, scientific and applied output for strategic decisions, development and implementation within various transport systems. The company is internationally oriented and cooperates with many research organisations and scientific institutions in Slovenia and abroad.
Partner’s Role in the SUNRISE project
Within SUNRISE, PIL participates as a critical infrastructure stakeholder linked with CI operator Slovenian Railways – SZ who also participate as a project partner. Prometni institut bring their expertise and knowledge to the project as a CI operator. They will contribute to the coordination of activities within Slovenian railways, perform pilot activities and testing of the SUNRISE technical tools and solutions and ultimately, support Slovenian railways as a partner in all project actions.
