Brief Biography of Partner

Created in 2007, the Critical Infrastructure Protection National Centre (CNPIC) is the organisation in charge of promoting, coordinating and supervising all critical infrastructure protection and (CIP)-related activities in Spain for which the Secretariat of State for Security is competent at a national level. The CNPIC depend on the Secretary of State for Security and Spanish Ministry of Interior and holds the principal responsibility of maintaining the national critical infrastructure protection system.

CNPIC covers a variety of crucial functions including assisting the Secretary of State for Security in the fulfilment of his/her functions within CIP-related matters, acting as a contact point and coordinator for system agents, implementing and keeping the National Plan for Critical Infrastructure Protection updated and operationally maintaining the National Strategic Infrastructure Catalogue.

Partner’s Role in the SUNRISE project

As a critical infrastructure operator, CNPIC will support SUNRISE through its extensive knowledge and experience by participating in collaboration activities with other CI operators, particularly within the project’s Spanish cluster. In addition to their cluster role, they will support the definition of the SUNRISE strategy and support the project’s impact creation, communication, dissemination, and policy-making activities.
